“The Lost One” is an intimate portrait about the loss and mourning of a loved one, how the brothers Santiago and Raul decide after the sudden death of their mother far from Spain to dig not only in their common family memories but somehow rediscover a part of the history of Spain.
My mother died. Her name was Maria. I discover among the objects left by my mother hundreds of photographs: of my maternal grandfather, of my great-aunt, of my parents. Together with my brother, we will have to reflect on our memory, which is also collective, and on what we have preserved and what we have lost.
